World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater Going 3D

Largest IMAX screen in Northeast Florida will be the fifth institution in the world to offer IMAX's new digital technology

St. Augustine, Fla. (Nov. 12, 2010) – The World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX® Theater is upgrading to a new digital projection system that will create the largest 3D IMAX screen in Northeast Florida. According to IMAX officials, it will be the fifth institutional theater in the world to have this digital IMAX 3D technology.

The upgrades include a new projection system, screen and sound system. Starting with its re-launch in late January 2011, the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater will offer first-run Hollywood movies and educational films in 3D.

"Our IMAX experience just got bigger and better," said Jack Peter, Chief Operating Officer of the World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum. "This new technology is incredible. The teachers and students visiting the IMAX for educational film field trips will be thrilled. And because we will have the best movie experience, we expect even bigger crowds for our Hollywood movies. The images literally jump off the screen and into your lap."

The upgrade will bring a host of new technology and features to the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater, including:

• IMAX's latest digital projection technology, powered by dual digital projectors with a proprietary image enhancer that allows for more light on the screen than any other 2D or 3D systems in existence.
• A new IMAX screen that will continue to be the largest in Northeast Florida and enhance the images of the new projection system.
• IMAX's laser-aligned digital sound system.
• All films will be digital, allowing greater flexibility and more opportunities to show the latest Hollywood films while continuing to show popular educational documentaries.
  

The final Hollywood film at the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater in its current configuration will be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which premieres Friday, Nov. 19. The theater will be closed for the upgrades, starting January 1, 2011. It will re-launch in late January 2011.
