Three new, heart-thumping films will open in September St. Augustine, Fla. (Aug. 23) – Visitors to the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater in September will be able to brave Mount Everest, swoop in to help in earthquake-ravaged Haiti and climb aboard the famed Dreamliner airplane. These breathtaking experiences are part of three thrilling new movies – "The Wildest Dream," "Rescue 3D" and "Legends of Flight 3D" – that will make up September's Adventure Series. "The Wildest Dream" opens on Sept. 2, while "Legends of Flight" and "Rescue" will debut on Sept. 30. Each movie brings its own brand of excitement to the big screen, resulting in an unforgettable line-up. |
Friday, Sept. 2 – "The Wildest Dream" - National Geographic Entertainment presents an Altitude Films Production with Atlantic Productions, narrated by Liam Neeson and Natasha Richardson. This giant screen, full-length 2D film documents the obsession of summiting Everest held by two men that lived 75 years apart. Follow modern-day climber Conrad Anker as he searches for answers to the mystery of whether Sir George Mallory actually summited the world's most dangerous peak. |
Friday, Sept. 30 – "Rescue 3D" - This film plunges audiences into the hard, but inspiring work of saving lives in the face of a natural disaster. Behind the scenes, the film follows a Canadian naval commander, two pilots, and a volunteer rescue technician as they train for action. When an earthquake strikes Haiti, creating one of the biggest humanitarian disasters of the century, the audience is swept along, joining with the massive effort that brings military and civilian responders from around the world. |
Friday, Sept. 30 – "Legends of Flight 3D" - Through the eyes of legendary pilot Mike Carriker, moviegoers will track the dizzying highs and terrifying lows of aircraft creation over the last 100 years. The film culminates with an inside look at the construction of the industry's latest game-changers: the Airbus A380 and the Dreamliner. |
